The pike season is in full flow at the moment with over 21 pike coming out in 9 days. Graham Alecock-Smith and friends took an amazing 13 pike on the opening day of the season, nothing massive but fantastic fun of real eel lures and dead baits. The best of the bunch going just over the 4lb mark.
Andrew Braunton took a corking low double from upper fuzzy of 12lb 6oz, float fished mackerel proved to be the winning bait of the day.
I even managed to have a go myself on the opening day and banked to lovely jacks of the fly to just over 4lbs.
Darren and his son Jamie have been taking some great catches on martins today with 6 pike gracing the bank to just over 7lbs. Float fished sprats were the bait of the day fished close to the marginal shelf.
The Big girls will be on the feed as the weather begins to cool
look forward to seeing you soon
