A fantastic trout fishing match on Jenny Wren today with no fewer then 27 rainbows banked between the seven anglers that took part.
This only tells half the story, The competition started at 9.30 am with the draw for pegs made and the anglers in position then all hell broke loose. With fish coming out in quick succession, 18 fish graced the banks in the first hour and half and the same amount were lost.
There were 4 very large fish hooked and lost in that 1st hour with at least 2 that would have tipped the scales well into double figures but it just wasnt meant to be.
This made for an interesting result in the end with Joe Higginbottom winning it with the last fish of the comp in the last 10 minutes which gave him an overall weight of 9lb 13oz for four fish.
John Gardner took second with 9lb 12oz, Then Stan and Gary Cornish took joint 3rd with 8lb 6oz a peace, Andrew Braunton 4th with 8lb 2oz.
A Big Thank you to Homeleigh Garden Centre for supplying the prizes and last but not least all of the anglers for making a fun day out.
look forward to seeing you soon
